Hello and welcome to my blog!
My name is Kristina, and I have been obsessed with books for as long as I can remember.
I truly inherit my love for books from my beautiful Grandmother who was a nursery teacher and was always surrounded by her favourite books. The older I grow, the more I realise that my Grandmother and I are one and the same. She would read me Bulgarian children’s books in such bold and adventurous ways. There was never a dull moment around her and that’s why I’m always surrounded by books too.
My love for English books began when my Year 3 teacher read Roald Dahl’s Matilda to the class. I re-read the entire book in a day after we finished reading it as a class. My life was taken over by the story. I’ve even watched the movie countless times. I remember I once sat in front of my Grandmother’s bookshelf, staring at them, convinced I could make them move with my eyes… just like Matilda. I then discovered the wonderful books of Jacqueline Wilson. She was my first favourite author. For my 8th birthday, I asked for books, only Jacqueline Wilson books! To this day, I believe I had read every single book of her’s!
Since then, my love for books has only grown stronger. I always have my nose in a book, and I will usually carry several books with me wherever I go!
I am currently studying English Literature (I really do mean it when I say my life is taken over by books). Although the reading load is very heavy, I couldn’t imagine studying anything else. I plan on not being just another English Literature graduate, but turning my love and passion for books into my way of life. My dream is to share my love for books with others and allow small authors the opportunity to get their work published. YES! You guessed it, I want to go into publishing. It would also be a dream come true if I could one day be a published poet but the future is a mysterious thing, full of surprises. I will attempt to post some of my poems to My Writing but sharing my personal work is still a little bit difficult for me. For now, I’ll stick to getting my foot through the door of the publishing industry.
That’s all on my book-oriented life. I would love to hear about you so do leave a comment below about your own bibliophile ways! If you have your own book blog make sure to leave me a link below also. I would love to check it out!
